Clear Lake at Glen, Mn.

I used to fish a small lake just north of Malmo on Milla Lacs at a town called Glen.  The Lake was called Clear Lake.  I have not fished it in quite some time and wondered if anyone has any information on it.  (Ice conditions, whats biting, etc.)

I moved to St. Cloud a few years ago but thought it might be nice to ice fish the lake this winter.  I used to catch some nice stringers of perch, crappies, and sunfish.  

Can anyone tell me if they are still selling bait at the Gas Station/RestaurantStore at Malmo?

Any info would be appreciated.

Still selling bait at the Glen store and still catching those perch,crappies and sunnies with a few walleyes also. Plenty of ice.

Malmo bait and café still open also. Several ice houses on lake also.

GOOD TO HEAR.  I THINK I MIGHT GO OUT NEXT SATURDAY.  I AM HUNGRY FOR A MESS OF PANFISH.  ANY SIZE TO THE PERCH?  ARE THEY STILL NAILING THEM ON THE NORTHEAST POINT OF THE ISLAND WHERE IT  POINTS  CLOSEST TO THE FARM ON THE NORTH SHORE.  I USED TO PICK UP QUITE A FEW WALLEYES THERE BECAUSE OF THE ROCK BAR THERE IN THE SUMMER.

ANOTHER GOOD LAKE FOR EYES IS DAM LAKE JUST NORTH ON 47 AND THEN EAST ON SOME COUNTY ROAD,  OR YOU CAN TRY SWAMP LAKE DUE EAST OF THE GLEN STORE IF YOU CAN GET INTO IT.  ASK ABOUT SWAMP AT THE GLEN STORE.

THE DNR USES IT AS A TEST LAKE FOR PIKE ( AT LEAST THEY USED TO AS OF ABOUT 6 YEARS AGO) AND DO THEY PULL SOME BIG ONES OUT OF THERE IN THE SUMMER.   IS HARD TO FIND AND MAY BE SNOWED IN SO YOU MAY HAVE TO USE SNOWMOBILES OR ATV'S TO GET INTO IT.

Please report back if you get out Saturday. Clear lake is a hidden gem for walleyes. Have also caught some monster pike from Swamp in the summer. Good luck.

Heading over to Clear tomorrow about 05:00 AM tomorrow  (1/14/18) and ought to be set up and fishing by 06:30.  I will let you know how it goes.   I am going to fish for panfish but will also set up a tip-up or a dead stick too.   I know of a hole about 500 meters off the West/Northwest shore. in about 30 feet of water that used to produce well for me.

never iced fished clear lake but had spent 30 summers fishing it as wife parents  both had cabins  Love that lake
