Fishing report from Flag Island Resort 8/8/16

Lately up here in the NW Angle we have had some windy days and a few thunderstorms roll through. Guests and guides have still been finding fish and taking home limits.

On the MN side, the walleye bite has been good south of Oak and Little Oak. The water temperature has been at 75 degrees.  The fish are in the mud in about 20-24 feet. Orange, gold and pink spinners with bottom bouncers or in line weighs with minnows or crawlers have seemed to be the trick. Recent reports of anything with red beads have really been turning the fish on.

On the Ontario side the Walleyes have continued to stay in the mud and are moving into fall spots. We recommend changing presentations. The magic depths have been between 22 and 24 feet of water. We found that points, off of reefs and fall gaps have all produced fish. The water temp is at 75 degrees. Orange, gold, pink and silver spinners with bottom bouncers or in line weights have been the tactic of choice.

Until next week good luck fishing!
