Fishing Report from Flag Island Resort, nw Angle Lake of the Woods

Recommended Posts

MN

In the NW angle this past week we have had some very windy days along with a few thunderstorms. With that being said, for the Walleye bite, the magic depth has been in 24-29 feet and a lot of fishermen have been having luck in the mud between Little Oak and Oak Island as well as around Four Blocks pulling spinners and bottom bouncers as well as with down riggers or snap weights with Raps. The Muskies have been found in shallow bays with rocks adjacent to weeds and deep water.

Ontario

On the Ontario side the Walleyes have been out deep in the mud off the rocks in 25-35 feet due to the recent storms and heavy winds. Spinners have been the most productive. The water temp is 70 degrees. Many nice sized fish have been boated and everyone has been going home with their limits! The Muskie action has really been picking up, we’ve had many fisherman report nice sized fish and a lot of them! We had a 50, 53 ½ and 53 incher all caught this past week.

Jonathan had a great graduation party. A Special thanks to In Depth Outdoors, James Holst, Dave Koons and Joe Nelson form making the trek up, they caught some nice Walleyes and Muskies and gave the kids some lessons on the new Garmins. We had a great time!

Until next week, Good luck fishing!
