I remember coming in from playing outside in the winter and not being able to unzip my coat or untie my boots because my fingers wouldn't work. The good old days.

I don't get why people enjoy snipe hunting.  Everytime I went, I just ended up lost in the woods holding a bag and never seeing no snipe...

my parents kinda needed to know about here we where, but...…..yea generally how it went. they got a little bit more nervous and needed to know up at the cabin. we tended to go "exploring" in the woods...….made them a bit nervous.?

when my kids where young we'd tied rattles or something that made noise to keep track of them.

When I was old enough to go deer hunting my dad didn't want to go anymore. I insisted I was going so he would drop me off an hour before sun up 10 miles out of town. An hour after dark he would come pick me up on the side of the road somewhere on a 5 mile stretch. I learned that country like the back of my hand. My Mom threw a total fit over the whole thing but Dad told her I had grouse hunted that country since I was 5 years old. He figured I could take care of myself.

Time spent with my parents; going on shopping trips with my mom and riding along with my dad for whatever errands he was running.

Summers that seemed to last forever; waking up late and running around outside for hours before it was time to come inside.

Dinner every night at the table; my parents and all of my sisters and I eating the home-cooked meals my mom had prepared.

The infalibility of my parents; no matter what the problem was, they'd be able to make it better-a cold, a bruise, a scrape, a sick pet, or a neighborhood bully...

The health of my parents, and the idea that they would always be there to talk to-for advice and for companionship...
