If You’re Looking For Tips On Where To Find Fish!
Jesse Wilkins posted a topic in Fishing Minnesota - (Spring, Summer & Fall)
Hey fellas, I developed a free fishing phone app for my fellow fisherman. It’s called FishIQ. I broke down 10 species by their location based on the water temperature. So if you’re looking for quick pointers or interested on where to find other species throughout the seasons give it a try! Hopefully it leads to more fish at the boat! -

Fall Smallmouth Fishing Namakan/Sand Point/Crane
Slopfishin posted a topic in Crane-Kabetogama-Namakan-Rainy-Rainy River Fishing Reports
I realize that walleye is kind up there, but was hoping there were some smallie fishermen here on the board that could give me some advice on the fall smallmouth fishing on Namakan, Sand Point and Crane. I've been coming up there for many years to fish for smallies in the springtime but have never tried it there in the Fall. Was thinking that I may try my hand at some fall smallmouth up there while they're trying to fatten up for the winter. Right now I am planning on coming up at the end of September. I'm hoping to find the fish in less than 20 feet of water. Jigs, tubes, jerkbaits and topwater is what I'm hoping they will be biting on. I know water temperature plays a huge role in the fish moving back shallow to feed so I'm hoping my timing is right. Do you folks think it's worth the trouble around that time. I really don't feel like hauling my boat 1,100 miles (I live in Kentucky) if I'm gonna be fishing the dead sea. Would Rainy Lake be a better choice? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. -
Got on the west side yesterday from 10 till 3. Smallmouth were snapping in 15 - 17 FOW on green tubes with red flakes. Three 20 inch plus footballs. 20 fish total. Two came up barfing out crawfish. Had two incidental google eyes 14 and 15 inches. All the fish were extremely fat and well fed. Great day on the water, very few boats. Shout out to Terry's, great place to launch and close to the action!

Anybody have any tips for fishing crane lake and namakan aug 16th thru 20th 2015 for pike and smallmouth?

The Smallmouth action was pretty good for us over the weekend. We spent some time chasing Muskies, however we spent most of our time pounding the Smallies. Docks were the most consistent locations, especially those with reeds near by. To my surprise, most of our fish were caught on spinner baits. We did get a few on sencos and I caught 2 on a Husky jerk. I did my best to find a few that would take a top water, however all I got for my trouble was about a 15" Pike. We did manage to boat 8 or 10 that were in the 18 and 19 inch range but most were 12 to 16 inches. One funny little tid bit is that we saw more Muskies while we were Smallmouth fishing than we did Muskie fishing. "Ace"

BASS?
partyonpine posted a topic in Vermilion-Pelican Lake-Chisholm-Cook-Ely-Eveleth-Hibbing-Orr-Virginia Fishing Reports - Hunting
Any reports on the bass activity are they getting close to pre-spawn or are they in pre-spawn will be up starting Monday the 1st and hoping they are going nuts. This is our annual fishing trip with my buddies to the cabin. Walleye fishing has been great the last few years but I am a bass fisherman at heart and with the late spring last year was really tough. Even up on Trout caught fish but not like most years. Just wondering if you guys are seeing them around and if so the depth. Cant wait and to catch some big bull Bluegills on Trout as well and have some fun with a good and sometimes loud group.
