Cutting from Rainy River to Morris Gap

I was just wondering if anybody has been going out through Morris Gap this year at all. I've been out through it before years ago with my grandfather in his old wood launch. With the water up this year I suspect it would be safe but really don't want to take any risks. Last year their wasn't a prayer of cutting through with the water levels being so low. Any lower and we would've been fishing the river. <P>I'm just thinking that sometimes with a West wind like last weekend it would be nice to cut through this way to take some of the stress out of the drive. Just wondering what everybody thinks.<P>Ryan

I've noticed a few boats coming inside Pine from the river to head out thru the washout. I haven't been to the cabin for a week now, but there were lots of deadheads and other debris in 4mile. If I go up tomorrow, I'll post on the floating junk.

You'll have to keep your eyes peeled for deadheads and weedbeds but it is doable.<P>fiskyknut
