My LOW comments from 3/15 to 3/16

Hello Everyone,<P>I just came back from a two day/two night trip from LOW. We stayed at WheelersPoint Resort and also stayed at a sleeperhouse one night. For the four of us, we EACH payed $150.00 for our trip. I expected for the money to have had much better accommadations in our cabin. I understand the rules of posting here so I will spare you the details of my complaints but I feel we should warn each other if the service is not what we expect. The sleeper fishhouse was fantastic and I would probably just book that instead.<P>We caught numerous sauger and only one walleye. The fish generally went from 10 to 14 inches. Between the four of us, we probably caught 12-20 per day. The best colors for jigging were gold, green, and white. A simple 1/8 oz. jig tipped with a minnow will catch you alot of fish. We were able to have two fish frys so that was very nice. <P>For us, it was important to fish early morning and mid morning. We did not do well afternoon fishing even though we gave it all we had. The bigger sauger had spawn inside so even though I am not a fishery expert I thought the walleye's were moving into shallow water. It does not appear they were interested in moving you to a better spot ("there all the same" Mad Jack said). We were in about 28 feet of water. The young man who checked on us during the day said we probably did better than most out there. There was a lot of drivers stopping by so I could tell he was probably right. We also managed three slimey eelpout.<P>The driving was great for my Blazer, however, with the snow blowing like it did, you needed to pay attention to the plowed roads. If your car or truck has ground clearance you would have had no trouble out there. There was little water on the roads as well. The road leading into the lake at Adriens is where we came in. That was not bad at all. So, if any of you come up here, expect to work for them!<P>Michael.
