sled or atv?

Recommended Posts

I will coming up 4-17 . Want to know how snow conditions are now.
Should we bring atvs or sled?
I am coming with group that has fished up there before and they bring atvs.
From what i hear, the snow is still deep and some people are still getting stuck with 4x4's.

are you going up on 3/17? cause on 4/17 the season is closed. If you going up on 3/17 its getting slushy and water comes up through your holes. as of right now i'd bring a sled. unless you got some good diggers on your atv, you'll make it.

If you are chasing pike at that point people should be back the the wheelers. The snow will be melted by then. Most likely it won't be safe to drive a truck at that point.
------------------
Grip it and Rip it
IFFWalleyes
I Fish For Walleyes
[email protected]

I agree with iff' but watch the weather.. atv's are more versatile . the snow is usually about gone or at least down to travel with atv's by then and it can get messy on shore too.
One thing though you probably know, if it's expected nice to fish outside make sure you got your hat, glasses and sunblock on top of your list! oh yeah and cancooler cool.gif

Don't take me wrong, I'm not anti-technology. Battery powdered items will always have their place. I'm mean you don't want your girl friend or wife in the bedroom playing for their gas powered adult toys!! That would be a bit loud and smokey!

That’s right. My 84 year old dad loves his electric chain saw. Light weight and quiet. Besides, at his age he’s not cutting a bunch. Where as myself I want something with more power and heavier duty. Look at how many people have switched back to gasoline cars after running one in winter if you travel a lot. As long as my strike master works I’ll keep using gas. Maybe my next will be electric, but who knows, you can find used gas ones pretty reasonable as others buy electric.
