Guys,

I am looking to chase some Sunfish during the Labor Day weekend timeframe.  Anyone have any hints besides Greenwood bay?  I know there has to be places these fish are hiding.  Any help would be appreciated.  I am on the East Side by birch point.  Although I am not against chasing to the other side of the lake if the winds aren't blowing stink....

Have a great day!

you might  check out on reefs   A few years ago on west end anyway the reefs were full of good sized gills.

I don't usually target them but out of the blue we caught 2 big ones dragging a leach and one on a worm in 19 feet of water 2 weeks ago? that was a surprise!

I can’t help you on east end gills.  But I fish for them on the west end.  Small  ones are in most of the bays this time of year-not eaters.

I’ve had several go to places for the last several years but not so good this year.

Nice that you just posted this as I went to a hump topping  off at 6’  but with some ledges at 13’ then dropping to 20’.  We found some at the 13’ level and did the best we’ve done since spring.  1/3 crawler, small leech  or even my secret artificial worms.

West side. Steep drop offs close the the shore with tree cover/shade later in the afternoon and evening.  Shallower bays have the small one's.  Get on the edges of those bays adjacent to deeper water.  Just my 2 cents. I don't necessarily target them but when I fish for walleye with lindy/crawler harness, I've picked up the bigger ones.
