I haven’t trout fished in 15 years, lol. Although I grew up literally across the road from a trout stream. I liked small inline spinners, trout magnet and kernel corn. Those three worked good for me

I never use live bait as I find it to be less productive and less fun to fish with. Small rapala floating minnows or husky jerks, rebel craws or frogs, small mepps or panther martin spinners. If they’re wild trout, dark natural colors. If they’re stocked trout, color doesn’t matter.

Just meaning trout  waters that have natural population of trout that are born and grow in the water their entire life.  Green pumpkin, browns, watermelons, black, silver/ blue, some orange. Colors those fish are used too. Insects, Minnows, crawdads etc.

Wild trout are more cautious, and basically smarter. I rarely do well with flashy or bright lures on streams with wild trout. But when I fish designated trout lakes up north, it usually doesn’t matter what color I use. But I’ll give the flashy stuff a slight edge.
