Most of my favorite wood duck puddles and  dry, so this year is going to be slow year unless we some heavy rains soon.

There ended up being 4 chocolate girls so mrs moose has a tough decision to make!

saw some kids that had a stringer full of eyes from the rum river.

Fishing has picked up for me the last couple weeks.  The Rum won't be fishable for this guy this season.  Its at historically low levels.  Gonna have to stick entirely to lakes this season.

@gimruis what baits seem to be working for the bigger bass these days?

The last couple times I have caught fish on some more aggressive patterns because when we started it was cloudy.  Buzz baits over clumps of weeds, chatter baits, and spinner baits.  Basically something that makes some noise or has vibration.  Once the sun comes out and moved up in the sky around 9am, the fish leave those areas and head towards shade whether that be in the form of thick weeds, docks, etc.  So them I have to rig up a plastic and pitch that in there with a slower approach.

I prefer to target them with the faster, more aggressive approach but unfortunately they just aren't willing to bite those lures when its sunny and warmer out.

Been seeing young bucks crossing the roads lately myself.  Haven’t seen one hit by my house yet but have seen several bloated deer pillows in the ditch within 5-10 miles.

Picked up a dandy yesterday fishing in the Ogilvie/Mora area 22.5 inch. We were marking good amounts of walleyes but it was hard to get any to commit because of how windy it was and the fact that our anchor was to light for the conditions so we could not stay on the marked fish for very long.

They will be ready sept 17 and 18th for pick up. A week earlier than I thought. There goes grouse opener, but it will be worth it.

The breeder called and we have until Wednesday night to make our pick so I am skipping out of work early to mrs. moose to make her pick. If she does not pick hazel will be the yellow collar or the white collar chocolate.

They were talking about the early teal season on the radio the other day.  I do not intend to go, but one thing they mentioned more than once was that the season does not open until sunrise, as opposed to 30 minutes before sunrise during the general waterfowl season.  I presume this is to make better visual judgment of the target.

Just sounded like a long day in one spot for scouting.  But hey, you really don’t know what you’ll see if you’re not there.

Well how did any of you do for teal or geese? I was tied with wife and went looking for antiques yesterday and today I asked Finn if he wanted to go chase teal and was my so excited. We might head out for doves in a little while. Hearing it f some good bites on the rivers and lakes.
