Well according to these same eye witnesses Brown was just walking down the street minding his own business and got shot, they totally disregarded the robbery he just committed. So yeah I might tend to be a little suspicious of what they are saying and the motives behind it.

The distance between the cop and brown when the cop shot brown suggests that the officer was not being punched in the face at the time of the shooting.

It sounds like brown was fleeing the officer when the officer shot him... a few times. Officers cannot shoot someone for fleeing unless there is immediate danger to public safety, there are statutes and case law supporting that.

The Chief down there said Brown was stopped for 'walking down the middle of the street' and was not stopped in connection to the robbery he was allegedly involved in.

I would never say someone deserved to die. However, if he's beating a cop and going after the cops gun one has to believe his intent is to kill the officer. At that point, shooting the suspect is the right thing to do. Cops have the right to go home to their families after work. Remember the douche bag that killed the cop here recently? It's not a game, it's the officer's life.
