hello folks, thanks for letting me join. i grew up in the small town of fairfax and learned to fish on the minnesota. reading these posts brings back alot of great memmories. fished the river hard from what we called robinson creek, east of fort ridgley to west of franklin, both sides of the river, knew most all the landowners and had accsess to some great fishing. does anyone fish renville county parks 1 and 2? there used to be a great sandbar with rocky bottom down stream always held fish. that was at park #1 park#2 had overflow lakes that held crappies. the people that owned the land where ft. ridgley creek dumps in would let most anyone fish, just had to stop by the house and ask. caught an 11 lb northern out of a flooding ft ridgley creek one spring, largest i caught out of the river. fishing around the old hinderman bridge a little further east was always good. as was the fishing at the bridge on highway 4. well dont get back to that country much anymore, still have cousins in the fairfax, franklin area but siblings scattered all across the country so any vacation i get is spent visting them, one of these days i will get back there and wet a line . until then ill just have to read your posts so keep posting. good fishing folks
