Sounds good Gordie. Maybe find out how early they will be open. I've heard some reports that they aren't open very early.

Gordie,

Where does one find a map for Borden or does everyone meet up and do communal spots? I am still trying to see if my buddy can make it. If not i will have extra spear and room in the Qfish 3.

We usually meet at the landing and pick a spot and head out. When I was up there last weekend I only seen 3 houses on the lake. Just the way I like it.

The following day there were a few more than three as I stated one guy was setting 2 perm spearing shacks off of one of the mid lake humps near the plowed road and there were several portys set up on the south end and a couple of them looked like they were spearing.

The guy that was setting up the perms was driving a one ton dully 4wd and wasn't even working at it so I think it should be easy to get around and when I did my turn around out on the lake my truck had no problem driving through the snow. Less snow up that way than down here.

Mwal go on the DNR lake finder and you should be able to pull up a map of it.

A little over a week to go. Long range forecast is showing we might be able to have lunch without freezing like usual.

I'll be bringing a BBQ grill and venison brats and polish.

I have speared this lake in the past, my favorite spot has not been selected yet. Its a steep drop off, next to a shore, next to 80 ft. of water. In Garison there is, or was, a tackle and bait shop which was stocked very well. It is located when you make the turn off 169. on the right, on the hhwy to Bordon Lake.

That's Tutt's. They were out of decoys last Saturday. They had a price list up. $3-$8

Well after a very heated argument it seems there has been a scheduling issue in my ex's part with my youngin. So it's back to just 1 from the neighbor_guy camp. I may recruit another, but that will be a last minute addition.

It will be Myself and a partner. What do you want us to bring to share for lunch? I do have a Frying Saucer fryer don't know how it works in the cold and wind. I don't have any fish though. Otherwise let me know what's needed and we will bring it. We do have Venison if someone has a grill. I can marinate in terriyaki based sauce turns out good on the grill. Just let me know what to contribute

Don't take me wrong, I'm not anti-technology.  Battery powdered items will always have their place.  I'm mean you don't want your girl friend or wife in the bedroom playing for their gas powered adult toys!!  That would be a bit loud and smokey!

That’s right. My 84 year old dad loves his electric chain saw. Light weight and quiet. Besides, at his age he’s not cutting a bunch. Where as myself I want something with more power and heavier duty.  Look at how many people have switched back to gasoline cars after running one in winter if you travel a lot.   As long as my strike master works I’ll keep using gas. Maybe my next will be electric, but who knows,  you can find used gas ones pretty reasonable as others buy electric.

I think electric items have their places, I just don't think large commercial jobs are going to be able to work well with them. Can't see a logging crew out in the woods all day changing batteries!
