This  was caught by my wife jigging on a metro lake the rock was 3 lbs and in 15 fow stuck in the mud...not very tasty. Hook got into a small crack  and had to pull out with a needle nose.

If you choose to get it mounted, you don't have to use the real thing--With a picture, a good taxidermist can make a quality fiberglass replica and you can still release the real thing back into the lake to be caught another day!

Nice!  I caught a nice one like that on Mille Lacs!

On the Rainy river in march, you have to be prepared for anything. We fished from boat out of frontier in the a.m. fishing was slow so we went to our usual sturgeon hole in front of vidas and tried with 2 lines each. Notice the rope that goes to the truck. The river was opening up a few miles each day so we were watching upstream for boats. My buddies laughed when I threw the power auger in the boat.

"Now that's funny right there". I do plan on mounting it for her someday. U got a great sense of humor.

My three year old has been loving spending time with dad on the hard water this winter. There are so many good pictures that it's hard to pick my favorite, but I have to say there is something about this 1st one that I will always cherish.

 

The second photo is of a 14.5" that mom decided we can mount for him.

 

The third is from last weekend. He jumped out of bed at 5 am to go out to his uncles fish house with dad.

Not sure about southern Mn, but western Mn Big Stone Lake has good size perch.

From two winters back, friends family picked this up used, to get from the Southside to the Angle. I believe it is a 1956-1958 bomber with a 454 in it. So fun to load it with guys and gear and head out. Definitely fortunate to have friends that take me fishing!!!
