Oct day trip - all comments welcome!!

Gonna do a day trip to the river in mid Oct, any recomenations for a launch with a good strip of river that you can get some good numbers - close to the launch..brr.

The best launch with access to the Rainy is at Wheelers Point. From there you can go all the way to Baudette or beyond, but that usually is not necessary. You will find several boats in and around this area. We fish the east side of the river by the wind sock. If you bring up Sportsman's webcam, you will see where I'm refering to.. Plenty of close places to have a "Burger and a Beer" too

Yep, what Kaz said is my favorite way to fish the river. Mostly because

you can sneak out into the lake, if the wind allows, for the best lake

fishing of the year!
