Mnhunter Are you going to go more shallow than where you were on Bobber?? I was on bobber a couple weeks ago, but moved out to 30' and it was slow to say the least. 4 guys, 2 days 8 keepers. I am considering moving back into the 20-24' area. Last year I had to take my house off by this time because of a vacation, but this year Im sticking it out as long as I can. What do you recommend for march? Shallow?

I was up last weekend an pull out to lindy in 32 an it was slow, not because of the depth but last weekends weather was just terrible for fishing. This weekend wife an I are going to eelpout an next weekend gonna pull it back to 15 or 18 maybe shallower, an it will get better as we progress into march an late march. Good luck this weekend. I am on Lindy right now, and show 28'from the bottom of the ice. I think we are going to try it there friday morning, and if we dont have any luck, probably pull things back into shallower water. Maybe back to Bobber, or Hot Spot. Id like to find 20' The weather is looking great for the weekend, so hopefully that brings on some aggression. Good Luck!

Just got back from Lake of the Woods tonight. This was our first trip, and our first time fishing for walleyes. We fished Tuesday and Wednesday on Big Fish off of Bobber St. Kept 11 fish between the two of us-everything was 14 inches or bigger, with our biggest being 18.5 inches. Threw back anything under 14 which wasn't too many. Happy with our results, especially after talking to others and seeing what they had. We found the gold Chubby Darter to be the winning ticket-8 out of the 11 keepers were caught on the same gold Chubby Darter. We only caught one fish on live bait. All in all it was a terrific experience, even if the fishing was a little slow. We will definitely go again next season!
