Sturgeon set up

Recommended Posts

The dnr has ruled that "if ther is a spinner blade at the front of the first hook, then the rig is a lure, thereby giving legality to two hooks" This is what the DNR in Saint Paul told me.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. So does it have to be between the 2 hooks or can it be on top of the second hook? Also would just a bead work?

Why would you want to stretch out your nightcrawler? Based on the size and shape of the sturgeon's mouth a glob or ball would work better. A couple of crawlers on a circle hook is all you need. I'm not quite sure what you are trying to accomplish. confused I think you are trying to make this more complicated than it needs to be.

Gizmoguy, Stretch was probably a bad word. I'm making my own crawer harness with the size and special hooks I want. I like to use to hooks so the ends of the worms aren't loose and samller fish nibble them to nothing. Just looking for some advice. Thnaks

I have used a single straight hook with night crawlers for 3o yrs just have to feed the worm a little longer when you get a bite, but their is more action from the worm with a straight hook then a worm harness.
