All standard inland water regs apply to the MN river.

Most people fishing this time of year are targeting White Bass, Carp and other rough fish.

The nice thing about the river is you can catch just about anything. When your pole taps, it could be a gar, walleye, catfish, paddle fish, sturgeon, or many others. The best way to find out what is biting is to go find out for yourself. The spot you are talking about will have a good population of catfish, walleye, sheephead, a few carp, bullheads, sturgeon, and even a few pike, along with others.
