Lake travel thoughts

Hey all, I and about 20 friends are doing our annual invasion of Adrians Thursday through Sunday and just want to get a day by day feel on what travel method is going to be best. Do we bring the sleds, or the 4 wheelers? Likely we will focus just past Pine Island in either the Lighthouse or Morris Gap, we might if it calls for it have to go out a little further, but mostly just past Pine. So any help would be appreciated. Thanks crew!

Good Question. As of today I would say sleds, but the way the weather looks that could change fast. How about half and half, you could always double up in a pinch. If you bring the wheelers, be careful by the roads. 18 inches of slush is no fun. Got my Rhino stuck last year and it took a truck to get it out. The winch even pulled that sideways until it finally caught on the edge of the road.

I was there today to pull my big house off, the road had a bit of water/slush not to bad. Forecast is for continued warm temps and possibility of some rain. As of today snowmobiles would be best bet, seen a wheeler travelling out there this morning and it looked to be challenging. Keep posted as weather conditions over the next few days could change conditions. The ice is still very good and bring an extension.

I wish I had some current info for ya. It was below 0 when I got up last Thurs. and in the forties (I figure) when I left on Sunday

From what I seen and what I would be doing it would be sled's all the way. A wheeler with tires and chains would not get off the roads far with out getting stuck on the main lake. But!! I think things might have changed up their a little this week.

Heading to rocky point friday and saturday. Planning on driving out of babblers. Should I expect any problems driving mt truck out? How has fishing been around there?
