Quote:
ST. PETER, Minn. -- Authorities are searching for the operator of a backhoe that fell into the Minnesota River near Highway 169 between St. Peter and Mankato.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation reports that a backhoe was "washed into the river."

The Free Press of Mankato says the accident was reported just before noon Tuesday near Seven Mile Creek Park.

State Patrol spokesman Lt. Eric Roeske confirmed for KARE 11 that a backhoe and operator went into the river but said he had no further details.

Aerials from SKY 11 show rescue crews launching boats at the scene to mount a search and rescue or recovery effort.

KARE 11 has a crew en route to the scene, and will have the latest details as they become available.

And that is why they got the duck out of there before the ice was gone.

Here is the Bing image via Birdseye view. Your right about bing having better image resolution. Thanks for the info, this is now my favorite researching map that replaces google.

If you rotate it should change angle and show different pictures. At least the cpu version does. Not sure about mobile

Check the time stamp. A lot of the views and images are multi-years old.

Yep all the online maps have older images, I believe the government does not allow current up to date images for security reasons.

It would be nice to have updated images. But my guess is they don't want people like Bin Laden looking at your favorite catfish holes... Lol.

Can you get a boat thru headed upstream from ther Carver access over on the far side of the log jam?

You probably can right now, but that might not be an option when the water comes down.

As it is now there is no option to land anywhere downstream so it doesn't matter much anyways. smile

Unless they've opened the gate in Chaska and I don't think they have yet.
