River Bend Opener Report
WalleyeWoman@low posted a topic in Lake of the Woods Fishing Reports - Hunting - Events
The 2015 walleye fishing opener is in the books. Warm weather would have been nice, but I will take good fishing over nice weather any day! Good fishing was reported in all our boats. The charters set up in the 18-24 foot range. Chartreuse or gold jigs in a 3/8 oz size had the best action. The fishing wasn’t fast and furious but overall very steady. Many slot fish, some of the smaller than keeper sizes and a few in the 28″ range were all netted and released. When the day was done most people had enough fish for a limit and some great stories to tell. We also had a boat fish for northern, and they landed many nice fish on Saturday. They were pulling Rapalas at about 8-10 foot depths from the resort area all the way up to the church. It looks like we are expected to get rain during this week. But the weekend is shaping up to be beautiful. A high of 67 on Friday and 72 on Saturday and Sunday. We have cabins and charters available. So click over to our cabins page for more info.
