My wifes Muskie from last week!

7 posts in this topic

I posted this in the Muskie section but I am so proud of the wife I had to post it here as well.

It was a great trip up to Lake of the Woods. I caught a 43 inch musky and thought I was the king of the trip. Boy was I wrong!!The next day my wife Shannon caught this 50X21 inch muskie. She caught it on a fuzzy grub tipped with a leach. Shannnon was using 6 lb test line!!! shocked.gif Sure was a heck of a battle. It took almost 30 minutes to land her. I am happy to report she swam away very strong.Funny thing was that Shannon caught a 36 inch Norther the next day on the same set up. She sure likes to out fishing me!

Dandy fish! sounds like you have a great trip. My wife and I were up there in july and like normal she not only caught the biggest but also the most. And that happens more often than not. But thats what makes it so much fun.

Sorry I forgot to put their phone #.  218-385-3385. Ask for Dan or Bonnie.   Hope this helps.

Leech, we're getting out feet wet then we can post within topics. Glem,  What will help you are trolling boards and rod holders.  I use a mast and main line board system but Inline boards work and a lot of guys use them and something for you to consider. Some stick baits to consider are Bombers, Brads, X Raps, Husky Jerks.  Spoons- Jim's Flashbacks, Moonshine.  Patterns/Colors- Pink, Purple, Monkey Puke, 57 Chevy, Pink Lemonade, Water Melon are just a few.  Superior is color specific like no other body of water so it pays to have a variety. Speed can also be critical in getting a strike and then you have to think about was it the rise or fall within the column that was responsible.   Last year you'd catch me at 3mph pulling sticks which isn't the norm.

Shorelander trailers are assembled right next door to Lunds. The serial # on the trailers are assigned a boat serial # after they are delivered.  All Lunds and Crestliners leave the factory on Shorelander trailers. With the exception of a dealer occasionally picking up just the boat itself.

Try giving Modern Assemblies in New York Mills, Mn a call.  They are the ones that built those seats for Lund. The can probably rebuild them for you to original. They do nice work at a reasonable price.

I've been out shore fishing a couple times at Hidden Falls and Minnehaha up to the dam.  Been really slow for me too.  Going out again this morning for the first time in a couple weeks.  Hoping to find a better bite as I've been hearing slightly better reports from boaters in the area.
