My wife and I are heading up next weekend. Was planning on portable houses etc. but the weather says -20 something for then and I can fish longer if my wife stays warm. Any info. on houses for rent in this area would be appreciated. Looking to get some into some wallys and perch etc., action keeps the wife on the lake longer. If anyone wants to fill me in on any specifics you can e-mail me at [email protected] I appreciate any and all suggestions. We'll be fishing Sat. and Sun. (going home Mon.) but don't necessesarily need a comfy house both days.
Thanks!
P.S. Is it advisable to bring ATV or can you get around on 4wd truck.
[This message has been edited by fivebucks (edited 01-17-2003).]

5$
You'll be able to get around in your truck just fine. As far as rentals, it depends where your staying. If your staying in Warroad, Sprinsteel has rental houses. Arneson's and Long point also have a good supply of rentals. I don't know if these places are booked at the moment, but certainly worth a call. We'll be up next weekend and I'm sure am glad I got our permanent out!! If your looking go for the rental and want some pretty good action, Arneson's are pulling houses out to the reefs(Gull, 12, Arneson's). Gotta keep the wife happy!!Good Luck, Hope this helped a bit.

Thanks Reefer!
We're staying in our hunting shack by Williams so either Springsteel or Arnesons may be the ticket. It might be tough on short notice but all I can do is try.
Thanks!

Table is updated below. Opening day is likely in jeopardy. Lots of good dates available for those sitting on the sideline.

That's ok, got the Bear hunting out of my system years ago. Still have some good spots on the GPS up in the Arrow head! Did love me some good greasy bear roasts though! 😋

Yes, I'm on the West End. No crappies yet, but I caught a couple of Cisco's and some perch this morning. Been dealing with chores at the cabin since 10 AM, so not much fishing.

Hard to tell exactly how much snow the way the wind was blowing it around, close to that I'll bet! 3 sleds went by earlier. Brian, are you on the west end? Did you fish? Catch any crappies?

I was on the lake this morning. There is still a lot of ice. I went down to the housing on my auger a couple of times. I'm not sure how much snow we got yesterday and last night but it looks like around 7 to 8 inches at least.
