New Ulm Ice fishing contest on Clear lake

Took a few shots from todays events on Clear Lake, having

never been to the contest out here and my son`s first. He

loved it. Was a pretty good turnout from the vehicle traffic

on the lake. We did pretty good for the first couple hours.

Caught 13 crappies and 8 sunfish. Non of the fish were worth

getting weighed after we found out a 1 lb 5ounce bass was at

the top. Was fun anyways, coulda lived without the snowmobile

traffic though, but its be expected at such an event.

All fish were released safely back into the lake.

Just for a future reference. They have two categories. gamefish and panfish. I believe an 8 ounce sunny took first prize. I was one ounce short of 3rd place with a 5 ounce sunny oh well.

there must of alot of 6oz gills because took one in i didnt get anything for that but who cares if the money goes for something good so be it.

Game fish: Bass won at 1 lb 5 ounce. when we were leaving.

No idea what panfish won at, if was still at 5 ounce or was

bigger. we gave up at 3:45pm after checking what was on top

for big fish. To noisy to for fishing at that time.

Makes ya wonder how many came in at 5 ounce and were not

weighed. Those guys just looked in my bucket and grabbed

one to weigh. Said that it was short and everything else

didn`t stand a chance. Dumped em all back in then.

Oh well, it was a good time, cured my boys cabin fever
