Upper Spunk...

Recommended Posts

Any info on upper Spunk lake out there? A friend said there has been some fish being caught. I don't want specifics at all but hows the ice and what are the species that are biting. I'll find my own spots and figure out the patterns but to be honest I've never fished there and I don't think my friend (lives in Avon) fishes to often anymore. (kids) Thanks all... Good luck. smirk.gif

I had good sucess on Upper for Walleyes during first ice and crappies up until the ice got thicker. The bite has slowed with the increase of traffic and pressure. There is still fish out there to be caught, stay away from the crowds.

Upper can at times be very good for walleyes and crappies. Some real good advise on staying away from the crowds to locate some fish always a good option. Lower will find you more northern action with a occasional flurry of panfish action. Both are 2 of my favorites especially Upper for Walleyes and Lower for Bass.

Don't take me wrong, I'm not anti-technology.  Battery powdered items will always have their place.  I'm mean you don't want your girl friend or wife in the bedroom playing for their gas powered adult toys!!  That would be a bit loud and smokey!

That’s right. My 84 year old dad loves his electric chain saw. Light weight and quiet. Besides, at his age he’s not cutting a bunch. Where as myself I want something with more power and heavier duty.  Look at how many people have switched back to gasoline cars after running one in winter if you travel a lot.   As long as my strike master works I’ll keep using gas. Maybe my next will be electric, but who knows,  you can find used gas ones pretty reasonable as others buy electric.

I think electric items have their places, I just don't think large commercial jobs are going to be able to work well with them. Can't see a logging crew out in the woods all day changing batteries!
