Mitchell lake / Big lake

Im heading out to Mitchell or Big lake on Christmas evening and was wondering if any one could send me to the right lake or direction to find some crapies. I live close to the lake and dont have time to go any where far away. Thanks for any information. and Merry X-mas

The only time I have ever caught crappies, was the deep spot on Mitchell. I heard Big has some nice crappies, but they seem impossible to find.

I seen a few people in the deeper water on mitchell this evening, if you were one of them, you have a chance at some crappies there. I rode my wheeler out, and cut a couple holes to check ice thickness around 4 PM. I will try it tuesday evening.

So what was the ice thickness on mitchell?

I went out on tuesday 12-26 and fished mitchell from 5ft. to 23ft. and caught a bunch of sunnies (small) and missed a few hits on the tip-ups. fished by the channel to Big lake from noon to dusk. How did you all do? the Ice was about 9 to 10 inches thick.
