She looks sweet Tom, I've seen those 'additions' for the old girl in Cabelas. Only bad thing, ya gotta baby her going through the brush now! Whats next, a scope?

I thought about babying her through the brush, but it is an 870, she needs to beat the brush to feel normal. Probably the last time it will look this good too. I have thought about a scope, but with the rollover on the stock, my head feels a little better lined up for the open sights, than before. scope might come next year, we'll see how the winter goes with MN new night time coyote hunting with lights law. Might have to go with a red dot by then

30 bucks for the forend, 80 for the stock. That was from cabelas, a finished product. you can buy the same set from the company that makes them for less, it is called a "virtual inlet part" which means you might need to do a little sanding and carving to get it fit flush. the company that makes the set is boyds gun stocks. do search for them.....I thought I might as well go with the finished set, I had the gift cards burning a hole in my pocket. It adds a little bit more weight, but it is so much easier to hold onto with the thumbhole stock....I am not sure yet if I will but the sling back or not

Don't take me wrong, I'm not anti-technology.  Battery powdered items will always have their place.  I'm mean you don't want your girl friend or wife in the bedroom playing for their gas powered adult toys!!  That would be a bit loud and smokey!

That’s right. My 84 year old dad loves his electric chain saw. Light weight and quiet. Besides, at his age he’s not cutting a bunch. Where as myself I want something with more power and heavier duty.  Look at how many people have switched back to gasoline cars after running one in winter if you travel a lot.   As long as my strike master works I’ll keep using gas. Maybe my next will be electric, but who knows,  you can find used gas ones pretty reasonable as others buy electric.
