I typically have an open seat on weekdays ALL summer long... since most of my friends work.. and I am a teacher.

If you don't have a boat (or even if you do) and want to go out let me know. I can go out most every day. And weekends are good too... I usually hit White Bear/Forest/Bald Eagle/Turtle but would LOVE to try new water too.. including rivers.

Not much traffic on weekdays is a bonus. You can add me to your email address book.. and if you work perhaps you might want to take a weekday off to go fishing... and many weekends possible too.

I will be in the Minneapolis area from June 18-28 and just looking for some people to go fishing with. Won't have any equipment with me as I am coming there for a job training. I will be available in the evenings (after 5) and also I have 1 day off (not sure what day yet). I would really appreciate any offers to come fishing with you as I have never fished in Minnesota before. Thanks in advance. Please e-mail me at [email protected]

Good morning.

Has anyone thought about cleaning up all the old posts out of this one? There's gotta be more than one out-of-towner looking to fish around here? No offense-Cincinnatian...

Hello everyone, I'm looking for a fishing partner smile.gif. I do not have a boat or much experience outside my regular areas. I live in Bloomington and have alwasy fished pretty much near that city. Bloomington lakes, fort snelling river, and recently black dog dams. I really want to get some walleye fishing going, only caught less then 10 in my life. But i have gear for everything freshwater. I have been fishing for 14 years or so and would like to experience other waters. I greatly appreciate the opportunity. I'm free after 5 on weekdays and weekends. If you have a spot i would love to tag along smile.gif. My email is [email protected]

Thanks!!

I am in town from Cincinnati for a job training and tomorrow is my only day off and would LOVE to go out with soemone on a boat and do some fisihng. I am staying in the Chanhassen area and would most likely need a ride or I could get a cab and meet somewhere. If anyone has any open room they can spare, I would love to be able to catch some Bass, Walleye, Pike, doesn't matter to me. I don't have my equipment so I would need to borrow some. Please contact as soon as possible so we can set something up. [email protected] Thanks.

I'm going to be heading down by Owatonna around 6 AM on Sunday. The guys that usually go with me aren't available. If anyone wants to head out from St. Paul with me or I could meet them a little ways south I have an open seat. Kinda looking for someone to split some gas with. Haven't been down yet this year but last year we were getting real nice sunnies and crappies. You can email me at [email protected]((Contact Us Please))com.

Hey Slyster, I'm off mon and tue's. Normally go with my dad, but his boat motor is in the shop and won't be out for awhile. I would be game to hit the walleye's on white bear tue's 7-17 if you were. I will provide bait and beverages if you wanted. I normally go to prior or madison and elysian since I live in Burnsville, but I'm game for white bear eye's. I've primarily fished walleye or crappie for last 25 years.

Started a new post before I realized what was up. but here is my other post Sandman I sent you an email already.

"This is a plea to the lucky ones with there boats still out of storage. I have been putting my time in on the St.Croix this year and been lucky enough to have some great days fishing, been out 8 of last 9 weeks there. I have bait, and I am willing to show some honey holes to someone nice enough to take me out. I will be checking the site regularly hoping to find a good Samaritan. I was thinking Friday might be a good day to get a early start and boat some eyes and saugeies."

I brought my boat down from Fargo just to fish somewhere. I grew up in Albertville, but will be in Woodbury on either Friday or Saturday (maybe both). If anyone has any ideas on where to go, I've got a boat and a full tank of gas to use up. You can post on this thread or email me directly at lenny4077 at yahoo, I'll keep checking all weekend.

Made it back to Winnie on our second attempt.  We left yesterday afternoon and the truck broke.  The fan shucked a blade through the radiator for some reason!   With help we got the truck to the shop and our fish house home by around 7.  Cleaned out the work truck early this morning and headed back up.  Caught em good the first hour or so but then real tight lipped.  Perch, walleye and tullibee are on the ice.  Missed two flags for pike.  Curious how tonight will be.  Nap time now to prep for the rush! 🤣

A little long winded but I'm excited to share. Got out on Tonka 4 times this week. Yes, I'm retired. 😀 Bought the Milwaukee 2803-33 and put it on a 6" lazer hand auger that I've had for 20 years but have never used it since I have a gasser too. Very impressed by that set up. Also gave the LiveScope a good work out. Monday afternoon found the sunfish and crappie suspended over a 40-foot hole. Saw fish with the LiveScope with the first set of holes and drilled a few more to get on top of them. Kept 3 of each for fish sandwiches. Tuesday afternoon in the same hole but near the ridge that connects shore to an offshore reef. Mostly sunfish there but a few crappie too. All released. Yesterday started an hour before sunrise and fished a small 12 foot-hole that I started fishing around 1970. Caught sunfish, crappies, largemouth and lost an ~8# carp at the bottom of the hole. Had it played out and laying sideways at the bottom of my 6" hole. Trying to get it started up the hole and my 4# test line broke with a new 4 mm tungsten glow wonder bread jig in its lip. Looked at the flasher and they was another fish. Grabbed the other rod with a 1/16 oz jointed pinhead minnow on it and fired it down the hole to be immediately consumed by a 12" crappie. All fish released. This morning fished the small hole again at the same time. Sunfish and crappies. Largest crappie was 11 7/8. No sunfish over 7". Just drilled 3 holes in the spot with the most fish from yesterday. Two for fishing, one for the LiveScope and set the house up. It's fun seeing fish creeping in from 8 feet away and you can definitely tell the different sizes of fish on the LiveScope. Reminisced on some of the times I've fished this hole over the years with friends and family.

Son and I decided one last trip before ice melt on Rush. Lots of slush at access, probably unpassable by next weekend with 40 to 50 deg. temps next week. 25" ice with 4" packed snow on fishing area. No hot spot just area with 30 so wheel/skid shacks. Drilled a few around orange marker found nothing, flasher lit up at blue marker suspended 15 to 28 ft. 36 FOW. Bite non existing put everything down, colors, plastic, variety. Got 3 at 9 to 11 inch. Talked to several anglers, same results. Love the floor I built for the flip no water/slush everything dry.

Thanks Oohfer, I did meet with DBS out of Duluth for their helical piers. Excellent solution, however rather pricey ($25K) and not sure how we would hide or make more pleasant looking as they would need to tie directly to the cabin, sort of "stilt-like" looking. We are going to get a couple more quotes on simply (not the best term probably) have new footings put in all the way to the ledge rock.    Thanks again, this forum is VERY helpful. Lots of good information on the Lake Vermilion owners Facebook page too!   Andy

I would explore helical footings.  Why not? Below is a company I’ve worked with. Not sure if they work up north or if they know someone that does? They are knowledgeable, a phone call should do er’ and see what you can find out. Good luck!   https://goliathtechmn.com/

ice is still looking good, have roughly 24inces give or take a little. Cats have been kinda tough to find in any real numbers. I have done a bit of scouting this week.  I think I might have an area pinned down that has activity... Will do a bit more scouting this weekend and into next week.   Will Have  The location posted by Mid week for sure.  Will also keep monitoring ice conditions.
