Sylvia?

Anyone hit Sylvia lately? My wife and I are planning to head there tomorrow (Sunday) to go after some pannies if we can get a babysitter. Just wondering if they're in shallow yet or if I should be looking deeper at the mouths of bays, points, etc.

Went to Sylvia, 5th in line at the launch , decided to hit a different lake. Never seen it like that before at this lake. Both parking lots were plum full! Had my wife and 2 1/2 yr old boy along, so I didn't want to mess around holding up traffic, etc while getting things loaded in the boat.

They either need to make the launch wider for double launching, or put another access somewhere. My vote is for double launching though...another access would only make that lake all the busier.

Guess next time I'll have to get there before sun-up.

I gave up on going to those lakes on the weekend... just way too busy. If you have a chance to get out there on a weekday, that is the ticket. I agree, a double wide launch would be nice.

What lake did you end up going to B.C.? Any luck?

We just ended up going to Erie north of Hutch. It's not a great panfish lake and I knew that while traveling there, but it is a small lake where we could get out of the wind and my little boy could enjoy himself in the boat. Sylvia is a bigger body of water, but that south wind would have been perfect for nearly every bay on that lake, which is why I was hoping to hit it.

Didn't catch any pannies on Erie. Just the usual LM bass. Was fun though to watch my son with the fish. The first few he would touch with his finger and say "ahkie", but by the end of the day, he was grabbing those fish with both hands, throwing them back in the water and saying "bye bye" and "see ya". Funny thing was, after he'd throw the fish back in, he kept saying "want more, want more". He did real well with his new life jacket too, which was a good sign.

Can't wait to get him out again and maybe next time dad will do a little better with the pannies.

Fished Silvia/Twin this past Sunday. We caught a handful of crappies and sunfish in the bays. Lots of lm bass as well. Great day to be out on the lake.
