Lohse: Turning the Corner or False Hope??

Recommended Posts

Down to Earth

Believe it or not the guy went 4-0 with a 2.14 ERA this Spring. The guy actually pitched pretty decent. What are the odds he can keep it somewhat once the regular season starts? If he improves from last year he could turn into a solid #4 guy in the rotation.

He actually had a pretty decent second half last year, too...he may be a serviceable fourth starter. If not, I hope they move Liriano into the rotation sooner rather than later...

I would love to say that Loshe is goning to have a good year but I cant. They wont score enought runs for him again and he will lose confidence again and start giving up jacks. I still like the twins pitching.

Lohse, pitched five more strong innings, giving up two runs and two hits while walking one and striking out four. He went 5-0 with a 2.42 ERA in seven starts and gave up only one run in 14 innings in his last three starts.

Buzz, yesterday he gave up two longballs. So thats al least two runs in yesterdays five innings. At least I think thats right.

Well after 1 start it looks like false hope.

4 2/3 innings giving up 8 earned runs.

Well I see Lohse was a flash in the pan in pre-season looks like another below average season for him,now we will really be in trouble with him and the beachballer (radke)pitching the same way as last year.

yup same as last year:

Radke(1-0) winning again.....Lohse(will be 0-1) losing some more

I don't know, I won't seal him to his current fate just yet. He could still get worse before he's done.

You guys tend to forget what happened last year you cant get to far behind at the beginning at that is what is going to happen if Gardy doesnt straighten some things out right now I mean with the White Sox and Indians its going to be tough to stay above water.

I also think that you need to take a step back and realize that there are still only 4 games into the season. Lets not sit here with the finger on the big red panic button just yet. Why even pay attention to the team if you are already condeming them to a bad year after only 4 games?

What does Gardy have to straighten out? What has gone so wrong so far this season that you are ready to start making changes already?

Santana has a bad start we should probably trade him before his next start so he doesn't pull us down. Radke gave up a few early runs before winning his game so we should probably cut ties with him to since he's a liability. The team is only averaging 6 runs a games so we should cut some dead weight and bring in some better bats, and the last dome dog I ate gave me a stomach ache so we better call the health department. OH, NO THE WHOLE TEAM IS IN SHAMBLES...HAS ANYONE SEEN THE BUTTON? WHERE IS THE PANIC BUTTON? PLEASE SOMEONE HIT THE PANIC BUTTON!!!

the twins strong points (pitching) did not do good this week, but a good sign is our hitting looks much better. our pitching will be tops again, so don't worry too much, they will survive.

I started laughing when the Twins went up 4-2 tonight vs the Angels, I told my wife "Lohse will give it right back" and HE DID!! She asked how I knew that would happen? and I said "he's Kyle Lohse". He then continued to implode and waste a night at the park for all the people who paid to see a major league pitcher. the guys a waste of hope and there is an arbitrator somewhere who needs to be hung.

Good call Buzzsaw, though you should have waited another inning to post. Not only did he give it right back, he gave a little extra. 8 runs in 3.1 innings boosting his ERA up over 11.

The offense is suprising me a little. I was skeptical during the offseason about the moves they made. I liked Castillo when they signed him .300 career average and 3 gold gloves is about all you can want in a 2nd baseman. But thats really the only move I thought was good. But everyone is hitting better so far this year. Also we are making productive outs where they are getting the runner over to second or third. I'm glad I have been wrong so far. Its perfect Twins baseball if the pitching comes around. Lohse will be out and Liriano will be in within 2 more trips through the rotation if this continues.

Oh my gosh! I turned the TV off when we were down 8-4 to concentrate on hanging out and playing with my son and I wake up and see we won 12-10!! I love a good pitchers battle. grin.gif

Our whole starting staff has been horrible, a team starter ERA of over 7? At least we are scoring runs, I have to believe the pitching will come around in time. I agree with the sentiment that Lohse is what he is, not good.

Lohse stinks-as usual. Why did we make such an effort to sign him (again). I just don't get it. Throw his rear in the bullpen and put some heat on him to improve, or else. Every time the team gives him a lead to work with, he immediately gives it right back! New year, same Lohse, as '04,'05, etc... It is disgusting, every time I see him on the mound my stomach turns.

I was at that game last night and what an exciting offensive game!!! Too bad the Twins couldn't get me a HR in the 5th inning, I would've won a $300 gift certificate to best buy, instead I ended up with a dvd and a cd! Brought the boy and once again, we scored a baseball from a player. This time it was Punto throwing one up to him. We score some tickets from our broker occasionally and they are right above the runway where the twins will walk in and out of to and fro for batting. The players always gather in there and goof off! Sometimes pretty fun just to watch those guys doing different stuff.

GO TWIN!!

There is still a lot of ice out there, my best guess is that it should be pretty much ice free by the opener. Stay Safe Good Luck  Bear55

I'll let ya know how rugged it is, it spent about 2 hours underwater when I put my wheeler through the ice a month ago. I'm scared to try and turn it on haha.

I was in the Landing today to do some troubleshooting. Looks the same as it did. They’re working at getting ready.

Thanks Borch:  this helps! I emailed the whole committee--hopefully one of them sees the ridiculousness in this. Basically:   1.)  the DNR set up a pilot.   2.)  The DNR analyzed their results and refused to enlarge the scope of the pilot 3.)  Legislature will, if passing this amendment, force the DNR expand a program that their own conclusions did NOT support expanding.  (* this is the time to insert your own clever comments about government doing stupid things contrary to evidence...)   Anyone that enjoys using the numerous MN lakes with public accesses NEEDS to take an active roll in this--let's overwhelm the server with emails from concerned fishers!; If we don't, I worry more and more lakes (associations) will place more and more barriers (in the "name" of AIS) to practically make the public lakes private...

A bear in a residential area of North St. Paul was shot and killed today by a Department of Natural Resources conservation officer as authorities determined the animal posed an immediate safety threat.  The bear was a male and estimated as a two-year old, about 110 – 120 pounds. The bear carcass will be processed and the meat will be distributed to people in need of food. Due to the density of residences and roads in this area, it was unlikely that the bear would have been able to escape to more suitable habitat, especially during daylight hours and during the morning rush hour. Growing interest in the bear’s location was leading to a gathering of onlookers. Bears can become agitated and pose a danger to humans when they become trapped or cornered as this bear had become in the neighborhood tree. Law enforcement is authorized to dispatch bears in the metro area if they pose a public safety threat. The DNR does not tranquilize or relocate bears. Relocated bears seldom remain where they are released. They may return to where they were caught or become a problem somewhere else. It is not unusual for people to see bears in the spring as young males search out new territories. They are also are looking for food sources at a time when berries and vegetation are scarce. If people encounter a bear, the first thing they should do is back away slowly. They need to give the bear an escape route and make noise to scare the bear away. People should also clean-up and remove potential attractants such as bird feeders, garbage, and compost bins to reduce the chances of bears moving into developed and residential areas. Bear sightings outside of their primary northern forest range can be reported on an interactive map-based application on the Minnesota DNR website at mndnr.gov/hunting/bear/bear-sightings.html. Discuss below - to view set the hook here.

A buddy and I fished Warroad yesterday, 730-400 5-fish biggest 39. We talked with a local guy who lives on the river said they have not came in hard yet. The 39 and 36 we caught were not spawned out. So we will give it another try next week. Also the ice seems to be going pretty fast  open I would say pretty close to a mile out, when it opened up in front of the docks 4-days ago, and its gonna get better.  Stay Safe Good Luck  Bear55

Does anyone know where I can find out which lakes smothered out in the southern Minnesota areas? I have looked on the DNR website and can't seem to find out any information there. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,
