Just curious on the snow depth and ice thickness on smaller lakes.... i know it varies from lake to lake, but just lakes that you have fished and know pretty well. I will be up there this weekend and want to drive out with my S10 and explore my lake more (we dont have 4-wheelers or snowmobiles).

What lake? Upper Cormrant had between 4 and 10 inches of snow and 14-20 inches of ice and that was 2 weeks ago. Should be more of each now.

Havn't been down that way. Is it fairly protected or could the snow blow around a bit before it got sticky?

It is pretty well protected but it when the wind blows out there it is a big bowl of wind. It is pretty long and narrow going from N to S. If you look at a map you will know which lake I am talking about.
