Pool 4 - Sunday 02/26/2006

Recommended Posts

Sunday 02/26/2006

1:00pm - 6:30pm

Temp: 25-34 deg F

Water Temp: 35 deg F

We fished from the shoreline from the dam down to Everts. While we had a few small bites along the shoreline area's south of the closer to Everts, most of our action came below the dam in 18'-35' FOW. Pink jig head tipped with a fathead worked the best. Also had good production on a 3/8 oz orange jig, pink super-doo, tipped with a fathead.

Action was slower through the afternoon and really picked up towards sunset and right at dark. I'll bet we boated 20 fish from 5:45pm-6:00pm.

Mostly saugers for us, with the biggest fish being around 18" or so. Good action and lot's of fun. We'll be back again on Friday.

mnz71,

Thanks for the great report from the holy waters. Heading out to Everet's this sat. for the annual freeze your butt off tournament. Looking forward to it, nothing compares to pool 4 in march and april. Question, how high was the water, was it in the trees, and did you try pitching a ringworm in the trees. Thanks.

Water is not that high yet, but was flowing. 3 of 4 gates were open allowing water of the top, the last wingdam below was still visable along shore.

There were about 5 boats that stayed till after dark and fished the sand along the east side, but I think most were dragging and picking up fish.
