Early June fishing in Ash River, Sullivan Bay Area

Recommended Posts

I'm part of a group of guys who will be staying in the Ash River/ Sullivan Bay area the first week of June. Does anyone have any tips on spots to try. We would really like to catch some nice crappies but will be happy with any action.Any help will be appreciated and should you stop at the bar at AshKaNam we'll be happy to reward you with a cold beverage or two. Thanks. Old Sneller

WCT,

Your in good hands @ Ashkanam bar...and fishing that time of year in that area is generally good. As I mentioned in an early post, my keys to that time of year is to find wind swept sand bars or shallow bays (2-15') that have wind blowing into them. Numerous islands outside the mouth of the river hold this type of structure, and bays such as Sullivan's or Lost Bay can be excellent during this period of the year...

Start by long-line trolling slow with live bait with long passes, and note where/what depth you catch fish...then shorten your trolling pattern and stay with those fish...

Hope that helps,

Kab Kid
