Ely area lake snow cover

How much snow is on the ely area lakes? I am wondering if an atv on some smaller lakes is doable.

The ATV is definately doable. There really isn't much for snow on the lakes this year. The warm temps earlier in the year pretty much knocked it down. When the Burntside Bash was happening (about a month ago) there was a lot of bare ice on the lake. There has been a little snow fall since then but nothing to shake a stick at.

Thanks for the quick reply. I am thinking about heading up this weekend and hit a little lake down the Fernberg trail a ways.

Out in the middle, maybe three inches of snow. Shoreline and around islands, even the drifting hasn't built it up too much for a wheeler or foot traffic. It's actually as perfect as walking/driving conditions can get.
