ice condition?

How thick is the ice on North Center. Is it thick enough for a full size truck? How's the bit been?

more then likely you will be fine but i aint taking a chance i like to have `18 inchs of good ice below my truck

I was out there yesterday and there is a good 16" out there. Lots of trucks driving out there.

be carefull boys..I fished the chisago area and was measuring ice.. I drilled a few holes that only had 11" still today...even after the cold nights.

that is what i am talking about. Getting your truck out of the middle of the lake costs alot of money and then try to explain that one to the insurance people and your wife.

I drove by Goose today and saw a pick-up out on the lake. But it looked like there had been open water not too long ago by the narrows.

I was out on Chisago Tuesday and measured 16" everywhere I drilled. Tons of full size trucks using the road as a race track. Ice makes noise, but seems reasonably safe. I dive a small SUV and had no problems driving out there. Yesterday was the first time I've driven on the ice this season and I'm still reserved about it for most lakes, but not on Chisago.

I was thinking about trying Green Lake but have never been on it during the winter. Is it a safe ice lake for driving on? Thanks for the info.

18" on North Center. Took the car right out, nice and flattened snow. I'd go for it.
