camp lake

I was on camp lake yesterday and there is water and 4" of snow covering the lake. the ice is 4" or less. I walked along shore and could get out to 14' depth after that ice was getting to thin for me. be careful out there

ranger. i was out there last weekend and didnt have the gutz to try the big lake yet cuz i saw all the ice/water by the boat ramp.. so i fished in the big pond on the left side.. still only 3.5-4 inches of ice and i didnt walk out far.. no fish though..i need a guide for that lake as i am new to benson! lol

I am thinking that the ice will not be real safe till about x-mas. I think with the quick freeze the lake is still turning over and has not had a chance to cool off. If you do venture out watch out along the shore also as this lake is spring fed. lots of soft areas along shore. I'll kep a post going.

I hear Scandi is in similar shape as camp.

camp does'nt seem to get hot till jan. 28' hole right in the center= then have fun
