Late season goose

Where is everyone going and what will there strategy be? Open water, fields, ice?

I have been keeping my eye on the birds. I think I have found a pattern but who know's late season geese have threw me a curve before. My strategy will be field hunting geese in picked corn fields as they travel from open river systems out to the fields to feed. I might even mix in a late season water and ice setup. I'll let the birds patterns dictate my choice. I'm pumped for the late season hunt!!!

Last week, in order to ge the birds to come in, callers had to really pound on the high nots to get them to give you a look and to keep their attention. Then the moans brought them down to range.

Anyone every used any of the Wing Waver products? Seems like theyd work good, but didn't want to drop 60 bucks on a flag if they didn't work good.

Wing-Wavers are nice and they do work. My brother made some Snow goose ones real similiar to the wing wavers to add to our snow goose spread (He's real creative). They were made dirt cheap and they worked well. I often thought about getting one but for the price I'll stick to the flagging with my 6 ft pole and other options of realisim in the spread. I will agree movement in a spread is the key to helping decoy geese but there are other ways cheaper to implement movement in your spread. Some things are flagging, adding cloth wings on decoys,and putting shells etc on movement stakes.

I thought it would be a good thing for people who don't call real well to be able to do, especially younger hunters. It would allow them to feel like they had something to do with the hunt.

If your looking to find some birds go to your local lakes and ponds to see if there are still any geese around and if they are watch them right before sunset and see what feilds they go to. It dosnt hurt to ask for permissoin to hunt other peoples land.
