pheasants ortonville area

the pheasants in the ortonville area took a pounding. it dont look good. we had 1 inch of rain and the about 6 inches of snow. the fields have about 1/2 inch of inch and they just cant seem to pick through to get food. they where still in the fields feeding at noon today.i saw fields that i know had 100's of pheasants in them this afternoon. i dont think they will make the winter unless we get a thaw in a hurry. but it is sure fun with my .22

I was hunting east of there today and saw roosters walking around with ice hanging on there tails, didnt look good.
