Ice Report

I was up at Macs Twin Bay today to put new siding on the fish house and there was ice as far as I could see from the SE corner at Isle up to Macs. At Macs it was out as far as the naked eye could see as well. Talked to Kevin and he said it froze over last night. Hopefully the winds will stay down for a few days. I would think with this weather another few days should have walking ice, but be safe. Bill

Gizmo: The new siding on the house is a light cream color and the Duck Still flies on the side. It will easier for you to spot. Didn't get it all done yesterday, so one more trip before they start hauling them onto the lake. Hope to see you up there. I won't be up until after New Years as we're headed to LOW on 12/26. Bill

Drove up the west side this morning. Saw nothing but open water. A little slush around the edges. There was a couple boats launching out of the access north of the casino. There forcasting high winds out of the north for monday, tuesday so it may be a week or so before things start to lock up.

The bays are froze over. I know Cove has had people out there, but the ice is choppy, and not good and clear. It was windy when it froze up, so it's white and not good clear ice. You should be good to go for foot traffic, but constantly check the ice, because it can vary.
