Sad to say this may be one of the best Christmas presents that I recieve this year! I thought this was a pretty cool customer appreciation! I know that I will use it and they will get much more of my $$!

This just in from Cabela's.

Cabela's Club weekend is December 2-11, 2005. (OK, guess its a week now. grin.gif)

Bring in the voucher they mail ya to get discounts on purchases. Similar to the last promotion they had with the cards they mailed out.

$30 off purchases of $100-199

$50 off purchases of $200-299

$70 off purchases of $300-399

$85 off purchases of $400-499

$100 off purchases of $500 or more.

I also got the $10 Gift Card in the mail (Free Cash)

I'm looking at a possibly 2 St. Croix Legend Spring Bobber rods or 1 with a nice Tica or Shimano reel. That will put me over $100 and get a $30 discount + $10 Gift Card. Buy a rod, get a reel free! I love it! grin.gif

Hanson,

Do they mail these vouchers to everyone? Might be useful in that Nils vs. Lazer debate.

Ouch Duff... no, I had to turn that back in when I was done with it! I'll be there in my normal goofy clothes!

I didn't even think about the "catching customers coming from the ice expo theory".......good idea!

Hanson- So if I were to spend $100, do I get the $30 off right there? Or will a gift card for $30 be sent in the mail to me to use at a later time?

I know your ? was directed at Hanson, but I'm pretty sure you get the discount right in the store.I was wondering if the gift cards are transferrable to another person,or who you contact about getting one, being I 'am a club member and spend money there all the time and plan on going there tommorrow.

I've been a club member for over 6 years now and I didn't get a $10 cards. whats up? Maybe they see how much I spend and figure I don't need the discount.

The gift was just a random selection. This Club card event was mailed out to 30,000 people. If you bring a freind in I believe you the orig. card holder gets a little more of a bonus for everyone you bring and they sign up. Thats what they told the employees in our meeting on monday. So grab a freind and have them sign up for a card also.

Also dont forget if you need floor mats for the truck or a auger holder for your atv stop by the Auto-Atv dept and see me to pick them up.

Spend $100 and get $30 off, a 30% savings......spend $500 and get $100 off, only a 20% savings....seems a little backwards to me! I guess it's the law of diminishing returns! I'll still take it!!

Did my usual $120 + tax as I needed some gift cards for Christmas presents and a new 8" armstrong auger (on sale) for the fish house. Burned my $10 certificate also so I got $70 worth of gift certs and the auger for under $85. Lots of people today but the lines moved quickly and we were in and out of there in about 20 minutes. The wife, who generally crabs about shopping at Cabela's, was so impressed with my shopping prowess I got to have ice cream at Russell Stovers afterwards... cool.gif Sunday's the last day in Owatonna.

Might not have to wear ear plugs when I mow!      That’s a spendy one.  It wasn’t hard to find one of those for $6k.  Comparatively and Ariens of the same size is $4,200.  A home owner grade JD for $3,900.  You could get into a commercial grade Z700 for maybe $8k.   I think the work I did today with mine would’ve killed that one there.

On the south end...   This year's MN Fishing Opener weekend was not only great weather wise, the walleyes and saugers were caught in good numbers.  A main fish gut hauler working with a number of resorts commented it was one of the most productive opening weekends he has seen based on the amount of fish guts collected after the weekend. The goto presentation was a jig and frozen emerald shiner.  Emerald shiners are a staple in LOW and walleyes love them.  Other minnows worked also, but emerald shiners are a favorite of anglers for good reason.   Four Mile Bay held good walleyes in 12 - 18'.  Not a surprise as the walleye bite on the river during the spring season was good and as of late, sturgeon anglers have been reporting catching walleyes on sturgeon rigs.   The Lighthouse Gap area, Morris Point Gap and just in front of Pine Island held nice fish in 12 - 15'.  Across the south shore, 18 - 22' was holding good numbers as well.  As you can see, there are lots of fish around.     A quarter ounce jig in gold, glow white, pink, orange, chartreuse, or a combo of these colors tipped with a minnow worked well.   As a reminder, the limit of walleyes and saugers is a combined limit of six fish, up to four of the six can be walleyes.  All walleyes between 19.5 - 28.0 inches must be released.  One fish over 28.0 inches can be kept.  The possession limit in MN is one daily limit of fish. On the Rainy River...  Some nice walleyes were caught on the river this weekend, although most anglers hit the lake.  10 - 15' of water was the norm.     Sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River has been excellent.  The catch and release season continues through May 15th and then closes until the keep season starts up again July 1st. Up at the NW Angle...  Some nice walleyes were caught in 18 - 25 feet of water, a little deeper than anticipated.  Points were good as were areas with structure.  The morning and evening bite was best.       As water continues to warm, go to spots for walleyes will be neck down areas, shoreline breaks, points and bays.     The goto presentation was a jig and minnow.
