Planning ahead to next Summer!

Recommended Posts

We are looking for ideas on lakes in the area that would be producing fish in mid-July. Walleye, bass and crappie are fish of choice. Would like a lake with a choice of resorts on it. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help!!

Mid July can be a little tough for walleyes, but you should have no troubles locating bass, pike, and crappies. Most of our lakes offer tremendous multi-species action. You will have more options and choices on spots to fish if you choose to stay on one of the larger lakes such as Gull or the Whitefish chain. But in mid July you will encounter many pleasure boaters and waterskiers. A good gameplan is to headquarter at your favorite resort on Gull or Whitefish and hop around to any one of our numerous smaller lakes if the boating hinders the fishing. Other great lakes with resort lodging are North Long, Hubert, Edwards, and Pelican. For walleyes Mille Lacs is a short drive and usually produces walleyes year round. If you decide on staying on Gull, check out Gull Lake Resort. They do a great job.
