Shakopee area lakes

Recommended Posts

I will be locating to Shakopee next month. Is there any good area lakes to ice fish on? I take my kids with all the time so doesn't matter what species, just need to catch some to keep them happy. Any info would be helpful and maybe some info on where to start on the lake. Thanks

You have a lot to look forward to in Shakopee. You have odowed (sp) which has a pier, also Prior Lake is good. And if all else fails go to the river. And you can check out chaska for their trout ponds.

O'Dowd is a nice little lake at night, just watch out for the high schoolers drinking and driving like (Contact US Regarding This Word) on the ice.....head to the middle where the water is 23' deep and watch your electronics....

Thole and Spring are some other lakes that are good. Thole has a pier on the north side and you can fish along the bank on the east side. Mostly crappies, sunfish and walleyes in these lakes.
