Baptisim river any fish

ive been fly fishin 4 5 mths now and everyone tells me theresn nothin better than a steel head any ideas about there cause my fatjherin law lives in finland IDEAS?

baptism may have a few coho and a couple steelies in it this time of year but very few if any. your best bet on the baptism is in the spring. if you are serious about catching a steelhead this fall you should make a trip to the brule river in WI.

I believe the state record steelhead came from the Baptism. It was caught in the spring.

thanks i live south in monticello i will probly be able to get there in the spring what should i use

when i fish the north shore streams i almost always drift yarn on a snelled hook, when the water gets very high and muddy i will try spawn, and when the water gets very low i will use small nymphs.
