Loadmaster, I have a couple friends that live on the lake side of park point and as soon as we hear the smelt are running Ill let you know. Im guessing another 2-3 weeks maybe sooner if the weather cooperates. Ill probably try it out starting in a week and see what happens.

I have a question. I've heard of people cathing them on park point. All I have is the old standard metal net on a pole. How do you catch them on the point? Do you need casting nets or something?
I'd love to get about ten dozen fresh so I can freeze them myself for summer fishing.
I appreciate your reply on this one.

Surface Tension as soon as I get into some smelt we should get some guys together. Good idea and I will keep in touch. P.S. What do you know about Lac Des Mille Lacs outside of Thunder Bay?

Had the boat off park point Sat water was only 36-38 deg. To cold for smelt I think they like the temps around 43 deg. Went out deeper 70-80 ft and I think they are holding out there graphed tons of bait fish in large schools..Sound like a good idea. The only thing is if you get large gathering the Park Police seem to find you and kick you off the beach it cloeses at 10:00pm. But if your quiet and no fires and not parked in a city park parking lot but on the street, they dont seem to bother ya

My name is HANNA HENRY .I want to give thanks to HAKEEM AHMED for bringing back my ex husband. No one could have ever made me believe that the letter I’m about to write would actually one day be written. I was the world’s biggest skeptic. I never believed in magic spells or anything like this, but I was told by a reliable source (a very close co-worker) that Trust is a very dedicated, gifted, and talented person,It was one of the best things I have ever done. My love life was in shambles; I had been through two divorces and was on the brink of a third. I just couldn’t face another divorce, and I wanted to try harder to make our relationship work, but my husband didn’t seem to care. and he broke up with me again . I was confused and did not know what to do again, rather they got in contact with HAKEEM AHMED. He did a love spell that made my husband come back to me. We are now very much happy with ourselves. HAKEEM AHMED makes him realize how much we love and need each other .This man is for REAL and for good . He can also help you to fix your broken relationship. I had my husband back! It was like a miracle! He suddenly wanted to go to marriage counseling, and we’re doing very, very well , in our love life . contact email [email protected] or text or add him up on whatsApp at: +27788392740 his web page http://astrologerastrology.com

You'll appreciate having less guys in the boat if you need to drag raps.

I love pulling lead core but usually don't pull it out until later in the season.  Can you share depth and speed numbers that were working with lead?  Thanks.

Heading up early Saturday morning. Going to be a short, discombobulated trip this year. Starting with 4 of us but one has to leave to watch his son play in state (WI) baseball tournament on Tuesday. Rest of us are only there until Wednesday. Kind of disappointing but I'm thinking we'll have to make a trip in September as well.    Forecast calls for wind!

Those are cormorants and they are aggressive fish eaters.  I saw more last weekend than typical on vermilion.  Pretty common  on the east end but I don’t usually see much of any on the west which is where we were.  They eat a lot of fish and surprisingly large fish for their size so they aren’t great for the fish populations.     I can’t believe how fast the water warmed up.  We were seeing up to the high 70’s last weekend.  Typically mid June is mid to upper 60’s.  The Muskies didn’t seem to be too fired up with the quick warm up.  The ones we moved were lazy and would not go in to the turn.  Hopefully some more normal temps this week help.
