I think I am hanging up the fishing on our southern lakes for a while. The weed growth is too nasty to get a decent presentation down. The bite has been, like the weather, really erractic and normally worse than we want.

Was really looking forward to Bass opener, that was almost as bad as the other.

Anyways I am heading to the river where the fishing is a little more consistent when the weather is not.

Good luck to you all and see you on the water.

That's too bad Rippinlip. There is alot of good fishing to be had. Besides last weekend which I spent on minnetonka. I have had a solid year. Try mixing up lakes, and look shallow for now. Washington and Madison have both been productive along with Lura (from what I hear, have not fished it yet). Crappies right know are on a feeding frenzy.

Quitter...... wink.gif

Givin' up ,eh?

Ahhhh, it's not all that bad of an idea though...Go ahead, hit the river... At least now I'll have one less boat to have to wait in line at the landing @ Mazaska.. wink.gif

You know I'm pullin' your chain.

Give me a call sometime, maybe I could help.

See ya out there!

Hey Sportsman,

Glad to hear from ya.

You know me I will be back on the lakes shortly, just enjoying the catching the eyes on the mighty Cannon.

Have had some terrible fishing on the lakes, plus the boat has been giving me fits.

Keep in touch and keep me in mind when you need some company on the water.

By the way hope everyone is having a SAFE and Happy Memorial Day.

How's it going JB ? Nice to read you again here.

Just kiddin...what's wrong with boat ? Send me an email.

The motor kept kicking into the limp-mode, after checking the thermostat, oil pump, and cleaning just about everything spotless, I noticed there was one grounding bolt that was not tightened, that was located under the oil tank.

Now she was running rough, and after cleaning up the carbs, adding octane booster, refueling with premium she runs like a CHAMPION.

A lesson hard learned, in the fall I will not forget to winterize the machine again. 1st year I didn't look what happened.

Back to the lakes Saturday to do some Bass catching!!!!!!

Opener was decent on Saturday and absolutely on fire Sunday. 9 eyes, three over 25 in, one at 28.5. A bunch of largemouths, some crappie and perch and a TON of bullhead. One of those weekends where your hands start to hurt.

I'm quite happy since I'm going fishing with a pal for the first time in a long time. We plan to purchase some clothing for it, such as exclusive hoodies.

The majority of docks can't be put it. Water is over the top of pretty much every permanent dock.  Very few docks are in.

Crappies are all up shallow in the south metro. Caught this one shore fishing with a beetle spin from a more secluded lake without much access. All of the crappies were between 7-9 inches with this 11.5" being the exception

A co-worker reported they had some the best fishing ever on V last weekend.  Trolling 6-8 feet in the morning with HJ10’s.  Where the water temps were in the mid/low 50’s

Those campsites are right across the water from us. Seem pretty well protected and I haven't heard of challenging over there. Holiday weekends they fill up very fast

My son camped on Hinsdale with his aluminum runabout. Nice site but walking across the hull parked on uneven ground he separated a couple of the rivets.

Thanks "Skunked Again!" I searched old posts and it sounds like my fiberglass boat might not be the best rig for Hinsdale. Still, would appreciate more advice/input.

I don't know about either of them, but welcome to the forum.

I destroyed my main propeller saving a neighbors dock section from ramming my other neighbor's dock. Definitely watch out for each other out there.   Raven77 - on the plus side of the high water, the floating swim platform that you sold me the other year was able to just float off of the rocks that I had beached it on. No need to do any heavy lifting this season! I'm glad that I tied it to a tree as usual.
