This was a common thing when I lived in Winona--I saw quite a few tip-ups run in March on the lake, and bass, walleye, and Northern targeted and kept in April and early May. I also saw people using two lines during open water on Lake Winona. I made it a point to say something whenever I saw this behavior, but never called TIP. I gave people the benefit of the doubt and believed them when they said they didn't know the lake was an in-land water, even though I'm sure some of them did know better.

Yes he knows that. He got a pic and put it back. No crappies, he was catching sunnies.

I also have a question? What side of lake winona is best for walleye and northerns? I know theres two sides of the lake split up by the bridge. I mostly fish the west and never went to the east side and wondered if the east side of lake winona is any good. Please Reply

i was out on lake winona yesterday and trited some fishin from shore, the weed growth on the lake it ridiculus, unless you have a boat and can run the weed growth its not worth fishin out in there in many of the spots, however there ares pots they do not have much weed growth and i have caught lots of fish out of there. yesterday on the other hand was miserable, no fish just blue fingers and a wet head, there were a few boats out there but non of them looked very productive

At BassCamp resort. Its actually located near the little burg of Minnieska. If you are in Bucks Bar you can see the dam and the resort is below the dam. Right on Hiway 61.
