Cabbage?

I was reading the last (really long) post and GullGuide mentioned cabbage beds on Green.

I've spent time in the boat on various lakes in MN casting for muskies with a freind who really has 'the fever' and he always talkes about 'cabbage'.

Can someone fill me on in what a cabbage bed looks like and how to locate it and how to tell it apart from other weeds? I'm not the greatest fisherman but I have spent a fair amount of time on the water. Can someone please either post a picture or give me some more in depth insight on what this cabbage really is? Sorry to sound to stupid but everyone seems to talk about this like it's so obvious and yet I'm just nver too sure.

Excellent addition chub, I've found the boardder the leaf the bigger fish that use those weeds.

The tell-tail sign, from about June through summer unless they get snipped off, is the seed head or tassel that will stick out of the water 1/4 to 1" up. Later in the season the leaves will turn yellowish and they will be easy to spot when you are close to them.
