Camping Info...

Anyone have any good recommendations of Camping area on or around Lake Mille Lacs?

I'm looking for a campground that would be more family oriented...Something for everyone, if possible. I want to fish, but need to keep the wife and kids busy so I can fish.

Planning on something for the fall either on the Saint Croix River down by the Twin Cities or Lake Mille Lacs...directions would be helpful too.

a few: Father Hennepin St. Park and South Isle Campground (both in Isle), Kathio State park (Onamia), Wilderness Campground (name is rather deceiving - Garrison).

Father hennepin is the only one actually ON the lake, the rest are very close.

Camp Holiday, just outside of Garrison might be what you're looking for. They have lake front camp sites, swimming beach, kids activites, boat rental, ect.
The lake isn't the best for fishing, but Mille Lacs is close by.

We did a Family reunion there a number of years ago. I also had a friend who just spent last weekend there with his wife and two kids and really liked it.
