What's the word on Madison? I have only been able to get out there once in the evening and didn't have any luck. Is the ice good all through the narrows?

I watched a guy drive his car through the narrows in the dark and he made it through and back...I probably wouldn't have tried it.

My buddy was out there the other night and he got skunked. He said there was 12 inches or better but I would always be careful around the narrows. Anyone been doing anything there lately?

Now I know why no one responded to my Madison Lake questions - nothing to talk about. At least not up and around the narrows (aka Dead Sea). I guess Grass Island is the place to be.

Fished Frances, German and Eagle today with little luck. Little panfish all over in weeds 7-8 ft - no size at all though a nothern or two may flag your tip-up. German in 30 ft was very quiet, scattered houses everywhere on the lake - only one little perch for our efforts. Run to Eagle and found out why they call Eagle Lake a town, the population on the lake may have had a higher population of 18-75 yr old men enjoying Minnesota and all of its wonders - including the opportunity to drive on water. I must admit between 3 of us we did reel in 5 eyes and a nothern though neither of my lines seemed to produce.

Where they biting? Come on now, I'll let you know what I know if you fill me in your luck or lack thereof. Being a well informed fisherman typically leads to becoming a "lucky" fisherman - which is a title I wouldn't mind wearing.

GO VIKES!

Funny fishmanJake I hit all those same lakes with exactly the same luck. I was fishing with a dushbag. I got the low down on Lura (may have to try it in the bitter cold this weekend since were not going to waubay). It does look like it is going to get nasty.

I got a good idea........maybe have a couple more beers and not worry so much about your neighbors. In fact invite them over for a dinner and a beer and discuss your issues...that's how my neighborhood settles issues.  Man to man...works out pretty good....

Send him some literature on CWD. Like FishingCT mentioned, disease spreads at common gathering points where deer may rub noses. CWD, for example, spreads through a prion or protein that can spread this way.  This spread of disease is an example of why disease in raised herds is such a big deal.

Feeding deer, especially in the winter, is a really good way to spread disease. Maybe you won't have to worry about them as much next winter after all

Because I'm sure he was serious about Molotov cocktails.  Is there an eyeroll button?

I agree with your neighbor , it isn't a big deal , your grass will grow back , and my guess is with the spring rains , all poop pellets will disintegrate and be totally gone soon , if they are not already gone ..  my question is what the heck are you planning to do with Molotov cocktails ?  If I saw you toss one at the deer , I would be calling that CO , and he WOULD have something to write YOU a ticket for . .  And if you flung one onto my property , well let's just say you would have a big issue to deal with yourself ,, that would be me !!! My suggestion is to just relax ..

Fence and pressure from the neighborhood is your best best until there is a law against it. Good luck.

      My deck?

A letter from all the neighbors or a neighborhood meeting with him sounds like a good first thing to try. Maybe he'll get the hint. Better than war.
